Locked at home and hunkering down to stop the spread of COVID-19? What better time to keep yourself up to date and entertained at the same time.

Check out these recent podcast episodes shedding light on developments in the energy sector:

The Energy Gang delves into BP’s recent announcement to make a push into clean energy and decarbonisation. In the aftermath of new BP CEO, Bernard Looney’s declaration that BP will become a net zero company by 2050 or sooner, the Energy Gang asks: what does it take for a publicly-owned company to re-evaluate its core product? and how do you reduce the carbon intensity of a hydrocarbon business? Amongst other pressing questions. Listen here!

The topic of this week’s The Energy Show was “Project Drawdown.” You may recall that SET’18 and SET’19 featured Drawdown Europe, an initiative of the German Energy Agency (dena) and EIT Climate-KIC, which was launched in 2018 and stems directly from Project Drawdown’s initial collaborative research project.

Project Drawdown seeks to help the world reach “Drawdown”— the future point in time when levels of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere stop climbing and start to steadily decline. This means not only slowing down the emissions but reversing the trend of these emissions so that we can reverse global warming. This episode looks into and reviews the top 10 solutions ranked in Drawdown. Listen here!

This episode looks into energy sector jobs, more specifically those that have to do with more than just solar, wind and geothermal. Hosts David Dodge and Kay Rollans also look at how good the energy transition can be for the Canadian economy. Listen to both here!
