Basquevolt develops an innovative solid state battery technology based on polymer electrolytes that unlocks the wider market adoption for many applications that today struggle to electrify. The materials developed by Basquevolt are the perfect solution for mass-market applications as they have substantial advantages compared to the conventional liquid electrolyte: it is easy to produce, it does not requires high temperatures or high-pressure environments, and it presents no major safety risks.
Over the past few months, we have seen the rightsizing of many of the projects that launched massive production plans for conventional lithium batteries, a product that only partly addressed the market needs. If there is not a breakthrough in battery technology leading to a significant cost reduction and higher energy density, the wider electrification will not happen despite a favourable regulatory framework. That is the mission of Basquevolt, bringing to the market lighter and more affordable batteries.
