Solarcool provides end-to-end off-grid cooling solutions for households and small businesses in Nigeria. With MANCAP-certified products, Solarcool harnesses Africa’s abundant solar energy to deliver sustainable cooling in areas without grid electricity. The company focuses on using clean and renewable energy to meet the cooling needs of underserved communities. Solarcool’s mission was inspired by its founder, Dr. Chris Edeh, who, during his involvement in mobile vaccine cold chain rollouts in South Africa, realized the significant lack of access to adequate cold chain facilities across Africa. This insight led to the development of solar-powered cooling systems that improve access to critical refrigeration solutions, such as those required for vaccines and perishable goods, in off-grid regions.
